I recently upgraded from Unity 5.x to Unity 2017.3.f1. Since then though, the Unity editor crashes at startup - whether I open an existing project or create a fresh one.
I've been browsing through support threads for a few days , and have found some people with similar issues, but none that seem to be exactly the same as mine. Some of the threads I've checked:

I also had some write access violations similar to what's described [here][1], but after changing the folder permissions they seems to go away. Strange though, since I've never had to do that before when upgrading my version of Unity.
Similarly, I've had to manually whitelist both Unity and Mono in my Firewall, which is another thing I've never had to do before.
Basically, it seems like something is going catastrophically wrong when attempting to install, and I have no idea what is causing it.
You're going to want to see logs of course, so below is a crash log (I have about 30 more of these, but they're all very similar). I've also attached a crash dump. I'm not sure how to interpret the log though, other than the obvious "something is causing an access violation". Is it one of the dll's listed at the bottom, and if so, is there any way to figure out which one?
