Unitys asset importer just crashed for whatever reason (said MemoryStream file is corrupted), and when I reopen unity, a hell lot of folders full of scripts (**3** different editor extensions of mine!!) - gone!
My main question is, **WHY THE HELL DOES UNITY THAT**? My files are apparently permanently lost: It's not in the trash, so they are deleted permanently, and as I'm an a SSD using the TRIM function they were directly deleted. Wonderful.
I'm just thinking - How could Unity be allowed to do so? Can't just be a bug - permanently deleting files when something crashes isn't supposed to happen, right?
Any other ideas what just happened or how I - against all rules - could restore my work?
