Hi Folks, I've posted a few questions here before and no-one had ever answered them. Maybe just too newbie to warrant any response, but this problem is HUGE for me now...
I just updated my Unity install to the current 5.0.2 on a MacBook Pro 15 mid-2010 running OS X Yosemite 10.10.3. I can launch Unity and MonoDevelop and open my ongoing project. It will play, but in edit mode as soon as I try to add a component to an object in the hierarchy, the whole computer crashes and is forced to re-start. Not just Unity or MonoDevelop, but the whole computer - without warning. Specifically, I am trying to add to an existing Animation. I have tried removing the animation and animator and recreating them from scratch but the crash keeps happening. I have also had the same crash & re-start when trying to open a script by double-clicking it in the Unity inspector . The crash occurs even if MonoDevelop is already open and I have synced between the apps. This has happened several times and now I can't proceed with my project.
I am about to revert back to a previous version of Unity 5 unless someone can provide some insight as to what might be going on. I would open a trouble-ticket with Unity for this issue, but there doesn't seem to be such a system. Please advise on how I can get help.
Thanks,
--Kevin
